Personal Financial Management Certificate

Background:

Effective December 1, 2013, approved Personal Financial Management Course providers will use this event to file a personal financial management course certificate.

 

Joint Debtors:

If the case is a joint case, you will need to select whether one or both filers have completed the course. Please see Step 7.

 

Step by Step Procedures: 

  1. Select Bankruptcy

     

  2. Select Personal Financial Mgt Certificates

     

  3. Enter the Case Number and Click Next

     

  4. Select Personal Financial Management Course

    • Click Next

     

  5. A reminder screen will display:

    Reminder: This event should only be used to certify that the debtor completed a course in personal financial management. Do not use this event to file the prepetition credit counseling certificate.

    • Click Next

     

  6. The PDF screen will display.

     

  7. If the case is an individual case, go to Step 8

     

    If the case is a joint case,

    The following screen will display: 

    • Select a radio button.

    • Click Next

     

    If you selected Both Debtors, skip to step 8

    If you selected Debtor or Joint Debtor, the following screen will display.

    • Select Yes or No

    • Click Next

     

  8. The Final Text screen will display.

    This is your final opportunity to modify the entry before submitting the filing.

    • Click Next

The Notice of Electronic Filing will display.  It is the verification that the filing has been sent electronically to the court.

Copies of this notice and the document filed are emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case.  You have a period of 15 days for a one time free look at the document filed.
